Dear Sharon, I recently had a reading with a medium and I am sorry to say that I did not connect with anything she told me. I asked my mother for any validation of names etc. and we both felt that the reading was not for our family.
I'm afraid that I did have 'high hopes' but I wonder if I 'closed myself off' unintentionally to the medium.
I would love to have a telephone reading with you and I was wondering if I should wait before asking spirit again or if indeed I could have another reading, this time with you.

It is possible that because when you go to a reading with certain expectations it can actually hinder the reading and it is better to go with an open mind and no expectations, then you will help the messages from the spirit world to flow through to you. It is unusual for names etc not to be validated and sometimes it's because you are only thinking that the names etc that can only refer to family members, when in fact they can be names of friends, old neighbours etc from the past that you have long since forgotten about, and sometimes the names are of the living and so these are dismissed by the sitter as not being valid.
The other reasons for information not being validated are that you may be being used as a messenger yourself for example. You friend has just lost a relative and is very upset but has no plans at this time to see a medium, in fact she may not even believe in the spirit world, but her relative in the spirit world is trying to connect to her and realizes that you are planning to see a medium, so the spirit relative of your friend turns up at the sitting and is the strongest link because they are desperate to let your friend know that they arrived safely on the ‘other side' and are now free from any pain and they have me up with other members of the family.
Another example is: You desperately want your father to turn up during the sitting, but he's only been in the spirit world for a short time, during the reading your grandmother turns up instead and you feel depleted because you didn't want her, just your dad. What happens then is that the energy suddenly drops and any communication with the world of spirit suddenly becomes difficult for the medium. What you didn't realize is that grandmother is coming through because she has been there a long while and knows ‘the ropes' and is building up the energy for your father to come through and speak to you. So because you have become disappointed the energy level has dropped and now the spirit world and the medium have to work much harder at getting the link, this is why messages can become very bitty and like jigsaw pieces, so the best thing you could do is to welcome grandmother, let her have her say and then father is able to start understanding how to communicate and the message starts to pick up and should start to flow better.
I would say that you probably need to wait a while before arranging another sitting and also to remember that it is not always possible to connect with the people that you want, and in fact it is not a forgone conclusion that any one from the world of spirit will be around at that time to speak to you. It's a little like you phoning someone and either they answer or they don't! I hope this has helped to explain a little of how it can sometimes work in a sitting.

I have to tell you right away - my dad has just contacted me!!!!!
I had been sitting at the computer for about 30 mins and just turned it off and something had been wedged in the coffee table to my side.
It was the order of service for my fathers funeral!!!
It could not of accidently been placed there at all.

How long does it take after someone passes for you to be able to contact them?
I have connected with spirits that have only been in the spirit realm for a few hours; I have contacted others that have never been in contact, despite being passed for many years.
People in the world of spirit can take days, months, years to come through with a sign or message, sometimes we never hear from them, but that's not to say that they are not ok, safe and well in the world of spirit. They may leave signs and signals such as a fragrance special to them, a song, maybe a visitation in a dream, there are many ways that they can leave messages, and we just have to be open to the way that they come through. They may even make lights flicker or pop, turn on/off radios and TV's.
Can you contact my pets in the spirit world?
There is no doubt in my mind that animals also do survive in the spirit world, I have had confirmation of this for many people, to date I have had received messages of love for my clients from cats, dogs, gerbils, rabbits, guinea pigs, horses & birds (canary, budgie, parrot & racing pigeon).

I am writing to you from Melbourne Australia . I can see things, i see pictures (flashes) when i talk to people, usually people who have passed over, then they give me a photo of the person and i seem to be able to tell them things that only the passed over person and the readee would know, including the passed over person walking me thru the their house and giving me colours and items in the house, (even down to the point of them keeping a green frog at their front door) (which made my readee cry.) I feel presence and have heard voices. Its more the pictures and words and colours then voice that is defintely not my higher voice. I had an aura photo taken the other day my face and chest is covered in violet, lavender coming from my left ear and blue white coming from my right, then surrounded in green down my arms and bright pink from my left arm. I always want to touch people, i am now looking at doing reiki courses. Everything i predict comes true.What am i?

Well from your descriptions in your email, you are a ‘medium', that is – someone who is able to connect with the world of spirit and receive messages from people who are passed over. If you haven't already done so, it would be best to join either your local spiritualist church or contact one of the spiritual associations in Australia for some help and guidance in development of your gift. Yes the spirits can walk you thru their homes; this is a wonderful way of receiving evidence so you are very fortunate to be able to receive this information as it is great evidence for your client, sitter, friend etc. I hope you are able to get to a development circle soon, as this will help you with your confidence as well as development.

Maybe you can help me out here--I recently met a guy (xxxxx) over the internet - Ever since we first talked, all of the bizarre "coincidences" have been occurring. It is as if I am surrounded by him--I don't look for these things, it just happens, examples:
1. xxxxx was telling me how much he missed crab cakes, and how his father found a company that could actually deliver crab cakes. I was having problems with my international phone connection, and the phone kept cutting off when we were talking. I called the phone number that the phone company gave me if I were to have any technical difficulties--when I dialed it, it was a crab cake delivery company!!! It had nothing to do with the phone company.
2. Several days after we began talking, I got my Psychosocial Nursing Journal in the mail--the cover story was about assessing soldiers upon their return from Iraq for PTSD. xxxxx was in Iraq for a long time.
3. I went to McDonald's, and I bought a Happy Meal, because I was hungry, but not that hungry--the toy--a stuffed red monkey--called a Neopet. xxxxx favorite color is red. His chinese horoscope sign is the monkey. The toy had a web address on it with a code for a game--I went to the website--on the page was a section with advertisements made up of cartoons--first was army men (xxxxx is in the army), then was a bunch of chocolate chip cookies (I baked him cookies and sent them to him), then was a boat traveling over the ocean (xxxxx is located in Germany), then was a bunch of sheep jumping over a fence (xxxxx family has a sheep farm), then it said "send a message"--so, I did, but in order to do so, I had to join the site--there was a list of advertisements to choose from after I joined--the first on the list being "a wonderful package deal-trip to Germany"--xxxxx is in Germany!!
4. xxxxx told me to check out this band, since I like music so much--I went to the store to get the CD--I parked my car, looked up, and on the back of the vehicle in front of me was a sticker with xxxxx last name on it!
5. And, oddly enough, each of us have a wart on our left thumbs--how strange is this?
This is just a few examples of the many bizarre things that have been occurring.
What is your take on all of this? I would really appreciate your opinion.

Well it certainly looks like you are getting ‘signposts from heaven' to me! What you have to do now is listen to your ‘inner voice' – your intuition; and go with the guidance that you receive from it this will be your confirmation on your next step forward. The spirit world often uses these signposts, signals and intuition and when synchronicity is involved (meaningful co-incidence) the message often has a more powerful meaning and purpose and can help to bring about life changing events.
When I was 13 I was impressed (by spirit) with a boys name and when I was 16 I met this boy, at 18 I married him and 30 years & 4 children later we are still together!
So listen to your inner voice, watch out for the signs and you will know what to do.

Just ask your angels to come & protect you in your time of need, do not forget to thank them.
Another very simple form of protection is to use visualisations, close your eyes, see yourself surrounded by a very thick, strong bubble. Whilst you are in your bubble, see the word "LOVE" coming towards you, as it reaches the bubble, it passes through to bring you love. Next see the word "NEGATIVITY" coming towards you, as it reaches the bubble, it simply bounces off of the bubble.

How do I stop from being connected 24 hours a day?
Once you open to spirit, it is not unusual for them to attempt to contact you at all hours, I have been asked by many people "how do I stop it".
One of the simplest way to "switch off" is to use visualisations, simply close your eyes, in your mind see a light switch, also a light bulb. If you wish to be "open" to spirit, simply turn on the switch, see the light illuminate. To "shut yourself down", simply turn the switch off, turning the light off.
Am I a clairvoyant, do I have a psychic ability?
It is my heart felt opinion that everyone of us has a psychic ability, I believe that we are all born will that ability, however due to events during our upbringing we switch this ability off.
This doesn't mean that it can not be re-kindled, you may only have a current ability of just 1%, or you may be at 100%, we still all have this ability. I have proven that with a few simple workshop exercises, everyone can use their psychic gifts to obtain information for others, but it obviously takes time & training if you wish to reach the level of a Clairvoyant/Psychic (reading).

My Dads mum has been seriously ill recently with cancer. I had been beating myself up as I hadn't seen her for 3 years and saw her for the first time in that time at the beginning of December. Although my dad has popped up to her a few more times in December and I had been beating myself up as I didn't say goodbye.
Last week on Wednesday night I went to be as usual, I had a dream if you can call it that it feels more like a memory, I saw my Nan lying on a bed on her stomach in dull light, I held her hand and she said good bye to me.
(I haven't seen her in a bed as she found it uncomfortable as the cancer was in her spine)
On the Thursday evening I found out my Nan had caught broncial pneumonia and died later that evening. Do you think this could have been her saying good bye? I found out that she had been in a hospital bed in her home as they wanted to make her comfortable,
Hope you can help me with this as I have never had a dream this vivid and felt like a memory.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss, but you can be reassured by your dream that you grandmother is well in the world of spirit. It is not unusual for people to experience dreams such as yours; these usually involve a family member or someone that you are very close to. It's telling you that you have a very close tie to your grandmother even though you may not have seen her for some time. Dreams such as these are called ‘lucid dreams', they are very real as you will be able to ‘feel' when you ‘touch' etc, this is because for a brief moment in time you will have left our ‘earth plane' and visited the ‘spirit plane' where of course everything is very real to the world of spirit.
I'm sure this would have been your grandmother's way of saying goodbye, or rather, her way of letting you know that she had left the earth plane and had entered the spirit plane. So in a sense she has not said ‘goodbye' but simply let you know that she has moved on and that she is now ok, and in no pain. She will always be around you, either in the spiritual sense, or in the memory sense, someone that loved you and you loved back will always be there for you when you need them, you only have to think of them and they will sense your need.
This is also another confirmation for you of your spiritual connection, not only with your family but also the world of spirit. There is nothing to fear from this dream, just take comfort that you were able to be with her on her journey, and yes it can sometimes feel like a memory, this is because a memory is something which we experience when something actually occurs, so realise that this ‘dream' actually happened!
When my father died three years ago, we were not on the best of terms; in fact he said that he didn't want to see me anymore. We had a very turbulent relationship throughout my life and I was always very sad that we could not have the ‘father, daughter' relationship that many people seemed to enjoy. Even so – on the day of my father's death, I ‘felt' the connection with him ‘snap' from me. I felt very startled at the time as I didn't know what had happened or why I felt as I did, this happened at 11:45 AM, and I was in conversation with someone at work at the time, I looked at my watch and felt very strange. One hour later my mother rang me to say that my dad had died at 11:45 AM that same morning. So sometimes the connection will be with dreams, and sometimes the connection will be ‘felt', many other people have experienced similar things happening to them, not all of them had ability as you and I, but they did all have a special link with that particular someone.
Take comfort that she is no longer in pain, and that she shared her special journey with you.

I work has a spiritualist medium, therefore my primary role is to prove the existence of life after life, I aim to achieve this though contact with passed loved ones in the spirit realm. However whilst giving a reading I may also pass on guidance that I receive from your passed family, friends, guides and angels. This will help to guide you in situations that are around you at the present/near future, all of the guidance I receive is from the world of spirit.
People often confuse the term clairvoyant or clairvoyance to mean fortune telling, but in fact clairvoyance is just a French word for ‘clear seeing', so - yes I am clairvoyant, but I do not tell fortunes. Seeing the future is in fact a very minimal part of the work I do and is only available to me when the world of spirit feels that it is necessary for the client to know something at that particular moment in time.
I do not work has a fortune teller, and I don't normally answer direct questions as I believe that we all have the right to make choices that may change our direction as we walk along the pathway of life. My work offers more of a healing/closure to those left here on the earth plain, additionally I offer support & guidance to help you make the most of your life.
There is often some confusion over the differences between mediums and psychics, to clarify:
“Psychics” do not normally contact spirit people, yet are able to make predictions and sense things about people and events (fortune telling).
“Mediums” communicate with those in the spirit world; this may include a variety of techniques to accomplish the task. A Medium is a messenger; simply put, our job is to be able to convey what we receive from the spirit world, so that you obtain the message they send.
In short - All mediums are psychic, but not all psychics are mediums .
Can I guarantee to contact a given spirit?
I cannot guarantee anything, I don't believe that anyone can, as all readings are one off's. However most times I can contact the person in the spirit world that you wish to contact, some times I can go to them directly, it is more often the case that I will make contact someone who as been in spirit for a longer time, this person will then assist the other person in their link with me. If this does not happen, the assisting spirit may simply pass on a message on behalf of the person your wish to contact.
Hi there - I have a bad back at the moment and was just struggling to hang the washing out and a perfect white feather, about 5", landed next to me. Should I do anything? I am not entirely sure what this means. Does it mean that an angel is watching over me and has come to help me?

Hi Karen
If you have been asking for help from the angels or just thinking about needing some help, then the feather is probably an answer to your request and that your angels are doing the best they can to help you in your situation. The feather can be a calling card to let you know that your guardian angel is around and to give you hope.
Our guardian angel is always around but they can only help us when we put in a request, so start talking to your angel more regularly and you will probably start to find more feathers! You don't have to speak out loud, just thinking will do, or you can write a letter to your angel and put in under your pillow, and ask for the solution to your question/problem to come to you in a dream.
Keep your feather as a reminder that your guardian angel is always close to you.
