Honour yourself

Have you ever done something quite unknowingly, with absolutely no intention of harm; and then the penny as suddenly dropped, you have accidentally offended or hurt someone, by a lack of thought or judgment, yet this was never your intent.

Do you feel deeply humbled, upset to the core, genuinely saddened by your innocent actions; if so what should you do? If not, why not?

Firstly be candid with yourself, be totally aware of your acts, review in great detail what you did; where was your blunder.

Now the hard part, if you are hurting, you are fully aware of the situation, so if possible apologise without reservation to those you have offended, explain if you are able the true meaning of your previous actions. Unfortunately this is not always possible, due to a lack of contact owing to time or distance; you may feel it better to let the situation rest, this is totally acceptable, but be honest with yourself whilst making that decision, do not allow distance to be an easy excuse.

However what if you know you have caused upset, but are oblivious the extent of the damage your actions have caused; or even worse, you see this but absolutely refuse to acknowledge it. What is stopping you from accepting your responsibility, could it be habit, could it be down to frustration, or just pure aggression. Only you can really know the answer these questions, the only release I can offer you is the word SORRY, it is amazing how much that one word can offer, it will open the doorway to talking, from then it is all down to you.

Okay; so you have done your best to heal the offended party, but what about yourself? By apologising, plus really listening to the offended party, and actually understanding their point of view, you will have already started to heal your own state of mind; nevertheless this is just a beginning, do you ignore the deep seated feelings you have, still burning away inside? NO you must also heal yourself further; taking a long hard look within at why you did/said what you did, can you truly see from the other party's point of view, if so you should have learnt a little sympathy & humility.

Now ask yourself this, what should you have said/done? How would you handle the same situation, if you could start anew? Learn from the answers you obtain from inside, these will guide you to a more compassionate way of life.

It would be easy to ignore all of the above, believing that what is done, is done. However it is not as simple as that, the reality of doing this would be you were only trying to hide from yourself. YOU know what as gone before, it is YOUR responsibility to honour your own feelings, acknowledging your errors, growing from these mistakes.

Beyond this there is very little that you can truly do to erase the damage you have caused, if you have learnt the lesson, you can honestly forgive yourself.

By doing this you may just have learnt how to honour yourself, and not make the same mistake again.

Unconditional Love

“You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.”
Buddha

Angels show that they have unconditional love for us all no matter what size, colour, age, religious beliefs or backgrounds we have. Unconditional love is what they are helping us to achieve, but we have to begin with ourselves first. To love yourself can be one of the hardest lessons to learn as most of us will have had some kind of negative experience in our life that would lead us to believe that we are not a ‘good or worthy' person.

But looking at this realistically these are opinions, and mostly opinions of other people, but the problems arise when these are people whose opinions we hold in high esteem, such as parents, teachers, employers, friends and co-workers and we automatically assume that their opinions are correct. Most opinions are based on assumptions and those assumptions are mostly based around events or conversations that have included us in someway. Sometimes these opinions are based around a fragment of these events and conversations and so the ‘bigger picture' is unseen.

As a young teenager I was at school in a maths class and I took my work to be checked by my teacher, as he was marking my work he said that to me ‘you are not very good at this are you', my heart sank as I heard those unexpected comments, and from that day until this, I've been unable to ‘get my head around' any kind of maths work, but previous to those comments I had tried my best and had not really had any ‘worries' about maths. It just shows that by hearing a throwaway comment or thoughtless words, how your self confidence and self worth can be eroded away. The maths teacher could have commented in a more positive and helpful way that if I needed any help, I ‘only had to ask', but instead he was negative and ‘soul destroying'.

This is just one small example of how a thoughtless comment from someone in ‘higher authority' can have a damaging effect upon our self worth and of course eats away at our ‘unconditional love'.

I know that I've experienced other situations similar to this in my life, but the difference now is – that I realise that these are all lessons which have been given to me to feed my soul and to enrich my life. As each lesson unfolds and I see what I have learned (or not!), I can see a better understanding of myself and learn to forgive the situation, the people involved and of course myself. With each event of forgiveness comes a little more love of myself, until I hope that one day I will attain ‘unconditional love'.

I know that the Angels have guided me in each of these lessons and when I haven't ‘got it right' they have given me ‘homework and revision' until I learn the lesson. The Angels are helping us to love ourselves as they love us – UNCONDITIONALLY!

Loves Many Guises

Love comes in many guises; it comes in the form of relationships with people, pets, places or simply being at peace. It comes in the sense of knowing that we are all bound by the universal law of spirit, that we are all here for the purpose of knowing and experiencing ‘love' in its many forms. Many of us will have experienced relationships with parents, siblings, partners, children, friends, tutors, work colleagues, pets, etc. Not all of these experiences will have been positive. When the experiences are of a negative nature these are often important and pivotal in the molding of our lives and personalities. These negative messages are often there for us to ‘choose' whether we learn and go forward with our lives or whether we become embittered by the experience and therefore ‘stuck' in that moment forever, unable to move forward and fulfil our true potential. Then there are often lessons repeated until we ‘get the message' and are able to move on.

The positive experiences are there to ground us, give us hope and comfort, knowledge, experience and to uplift us. They are also there to remind us that there is much joy in the world, and often this joy is derived from sharing a special moment with a loved one, or simply knowing that you are loved, nurtured and needed. Laughter doesn't cost anything it's free and often accompanies a sense of well being and can help in creating ‘special moments' in your life, memories to look back on and remember with affection.

I believe that we are all here to learn about ‘love' in its many forms including the highest accolade of all - ‘Unconditional Love'.

The lessons we encounter in our lives are all heading for the same result – unconditional love, but at the time we may only see what is set before us; maybe we will have spoken ill words with someone and from this may come dislike or even hatred of that person.

We have to see the bigger picture from this lesson and this may be to learn about:
•  listening
•  understanding
•  compassion
•  forgiveness

We have free will to choose whether we become embittered and stand still in our spiritual development or understand and move forward towards unconditional love.

So stand back and reflect on the ‘lessons' of your life, see where the Angels have given you ‘homework' and see where you would benefit from ‘revision' from this lesson, see how the Angels have helped and guided you to the answers that you seek, and you will realise that you have had more support from the Angels than you first realised. Cherish love in all its many guises and this will move you forward toward unconditional love.

Finding your dream

Well looking back over 2005, I realise that the spirit world have been giving me hints as to what the next steps are on my life's journey, but as usual I've not always seen the obvious; so they have thrown lesson after lesson at me, until I finally ‘got it'!

Fortunately whenever I bumped into an obstacle on life's highway, they have also nudged me to read just the right book at the right time, or I've met the right person at the right time to help me understand the ‘lessons,' and what I could learn from the situations, and believe me I've had quite a few ‘lessons' to learn this year!

I've learnt (and still learning) that the old adage, ‘when one door closes another opens' is very true; another is that you ‘create your own reality', again very true. So what does this all mean – well it's about making the most of opportunities both taken and missed, and turning them into positive learning situations and moving forward toward your dreams and goals. I've learnt that every single situation that you find yourself in, whether by choice or someone else's, is simply another lesson for you to grasp hold of and learn from, to enable and to equip you with knowledge that you need to help you in the fulfillment of your life mission.

What I've also learned is, to not only to find your dream, but to hold on to it and work toward it, and before you know it you are living it. The most important piece of knowledge that has been imparted to me this year is about being true to yourself, listen to your inner voice and be true to it, because this is who you really are. If you want to be a dancer, a musician, a doctor, an actor, a singer, a teacher or maybe even an astronaut – stay true to your feelings because this is your mission and you can work toward it however insurmountable it may seem, if you can dream it – you can do it – believe in yourself and in your dreams!

Angel Therapy Practitioner

I'm an “Angel Therapy Practitioner”, earlier this year I attended Doreen Virtue's course in Glastonbury . The week was wonderful, an escape from the reality of the every day world, so many like minded souls from around the planet, all gathered together unfortunately for such a short time.

Throughout the week Doreen Virtue taught us various subjects, I was amazed at how much I had already been taught throughout my life by the angels, this also helped to prop up my confidence, by reassuring me that I already knew many of the answers.

Now that I have qualified as an “ATP”, I have redesigned my existing workshops to incorporate the additional knowledge that I gained directly from Doreen Virtue.

Courses include:
